About Widelity

There is depth and breadth of experience across the Widelity team. Our executives have held senior-level positions at both large corporations and start-up ventures. Our people have launched wireless telecommunications technologies, created and managed large professional services engagements, and directed finance groups for public companies. Collectively, our team has worked as consultants, vice presidents of other companies, professors, inventors, project managers, site designers and installers.

David S. Wiley - President

Mr. Wiley has over 16 years of sales, professional services and management experience in the telecommunications industry. He is a high integrity, dynamic manager known for leading successful corporations through complex start-up, turnaround, and high-growth cycles. Prior to founding Widelity, he served as the Vice President of Operations Planning and Support for First Avenue Networks, a major broadband fixed wireless company. He also served as Vice President of Services at MobileAccess Networks, a leading provider of in-building wireless solutions, where he was responsible for the successful implementation and maintenance of multi-million dollar projects on time and within budget. Before joining MobileAccess, Mr. Wiley was a Director at XO Communications where he led national network deployment and service initiatives. Prior to that, he was Director of Business Operations at Iridium, and managed systems development and delivery at Verizon and as a consultant at Accenture.

Throughout his career, Mr. Wiley has capitalized on market opportunities to drive revenues, profits, and growth. He combines strong organization and communication skills with a proven ability to conceptualize, architect, and implement successful solutions for complex customer needs. Mr. Wiley has a B.A. in Economics and an MBA both from the College of William and Mary.

Paul Altoz - Principal

Mr. Altoz is a multi-skilled 18 year telecommunications industry veteran with experience in the wireless, in-building, long distance, satellite, and CLEC segments. His unique blend of operational and financial expertise has focused on Budgeting and Reporting, Program and Project Management, Contract Administration, Operations and Process Development and Internal Controls. He combines strong organization and communication skills with a proven ability to develop and execute on management’s objectives. He holds a BS in Accounting from Virginia Tech and passed the Uniform Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exam.

Gain Bunten - Principal

Gain Bunten has over 25 years of Telecommunications and Information Technology management experience focusing on communications product development and services development & support.. Prior to joining Widelity, Mr. Bunten managed his own consulting firm serving clients in the voice and IP industries and was Director of Service Development for Cable & Wireless’ Global Markets division serving large multinational clients in North America, Europe, and Asia. He was responsible for overseeing the implementation of an integrated global network management platform. Establishing operations centers in Bangalore, India and Hong Kong, Mr. Bunten’s team employed the global network management platform in support of Managed Network Services products successfully serving the European and Asian markets. He has extensive experience in conceptualizing and developing managed services solutions from a client’s and vendor’s perspectives.

Mr. Bunten’s background includes communications product development as a member of the development management teams at Alcatel Data Networks and Sprint International. A service operations veteran with a sound grasp of operations process development including ITIL and business continuity practices, he is well versed in all business components representing the managed services industry.

Mr. Bunten has a Masters in Telecommunication from The George Washington University and a BA in English/Journalism from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

Jack Kearins - Principal

Mr. Kearins is a high integrity, dynamic manager known for leading large scale projects, process and operations management initiatives in the Information Technology and Telecommunications Industries. Mr. Kearins has over 30 years experience both domestically and internationally and has held positions in operations, engineering, service management and project management. Prior to joining Widelity, Mr. Kearins served as Director of Professional Services with Verilink, and as a Senior Project Manager with AT&T International Data Services. While with AT&T, Mr. Kearins was the lead Customer Care project manager for the Alestra Project which was an AT&T joint venture to launch a new telecommunications company in Mexico. As the project manager, Mr. Kearins managed a divers team of professionals developing processes, system requirements, staffing and operational structure to support a Customer Care Center, Inbound/Outbound Marketing Center and a Operator Services Center.

Mr. Kearins expertise is in developing, planning and implementing projects and programs which improve Profit-to-Loss ratios, increase efficiency, enhance productivity and deliver corporate and client expectations in both domestic and international arenas. He has proven skills in facilitation, process management, organization, motivation, planning, initiation, budgeting and re-engineering of operations through policy, which promotes a team based work atmosphere and demonstrates a positive result to the financial bottom line.

Mr. Kearins has a BA in Management from National Louis University and a MS in Project Management from George Washington University, is a Six Sigma Black Belt, certified PMP and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

Robert McAfee - Principal

Mr. McAfee is an industry veteran with a successful track record of overseeing successful complex ground start initiatives from inception through profitable operation. Prior to joining Widelity, Mr. McAfee served as Director of National Services with Verilink and as the Director of Technology Deployment with XO Communications overseeing the development of their new Wireless Technology Division while directly managing Northern Regional Operations including the North East 22 states and Canada. Mr. McAfee has held various global/international and domestic Director, Senior Operations and Senior Engineering positions supporting major corporate development initiatives and has consulted for companies including AT&T, Verizon, Research Management, Lockheed Martin, General Electric, Hughes, and TDS Inc., Mr. McAfee’s major consulting engagements include AT&T’s Open Ocean System, lead consultant to the Chinese Deputy General of Communications in support of wireless frequency allocation, Lead Director overseeing the 9/11 communications recovery for southern Manhattan, the NY City Mayor’s office, NY City Emergency services and the NY City Financial District. He began his career as a Radar Systems Technical Engineer with the United States Coast Guard and later led operational teams supporting US Naval communications programs with General Electric.

Mr. McAfee has a BS in Management from Granite State College and a MBA from the College of William & Mary, is a Six Sigma Black Belt, certified PMP and has an Electronic Technologies Certificate from the US Coast Guard.

Barry Graves - Principal

Mr. Graves has over 20 years of experience in design and deployment of wireless communications systems. His previous positions include Director of Engineering at InnerWireless, Director Broadband Wireless Engineering at XO Communications, Director Broadband Wireless Engineering at Nortel Networks, and Senior Product Manager at Nortel Networks.

Mr. Graves has significant international experience having completed in-building projects in China and Hong Kong. His career has also taken him to Singapore, Pakistan, Israel and several European locations. He is a graduate of the Texas A&M University with a BS, Engineering and curently resides in Texas

Michael Lasky - Principal

Michael Lasky has over twenty five 25 years of business management and consulting experience in the technology and communications industries. Prior to joining Widelity, Mr. Lasky was the Managing Director of the Stargazer Foundation developing products and services for emergency responders. Prior to Stargazer, he developed and launched PropertyChannel.com, a joint venture of Cox Newspapers, Tribune Company, Knight-Ridder and Advance Publications. Mr. Lasky also spent a number of years in television and satellite communications including time with Bell Atlantic Video Services overseeing the creation of interactive services, and managing the programming acquisition. He was Vice President of Programming at SKYPIX as well as the Director of Film Acquisition. at Showtime/The Movie Channel. Mr. Lasky has an MBA from the Johnson Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Cornell University.
