Project Details

The Challenges

PNCC needed a trusted partner who understood the business and technology operating limitations and opportunities for a mobile network operator in a remote and distributed environment to modernize their entire communications infrastructure without a disruption of service to existing customers or negatively impacting operator KPIs.

The Solutions

Widelity provided technical, financial and use case understanding in support of PNCC’s funded program to replace their existing 3G/4G cellular system, including replacing Huawei components with 4G/5G Open RAN enabling components sourced from the Quad diplomatic countries (U.S., Australia, India, Japan). Widelity created and delivered a global Open RAN RFP from which PNCC chose best class suppliers in RAN, backhaul network, OSS and BSS systems. A SIM Transition Plan was key to facilitating PNCC’s smooth implementation of their new network built with trusted technology components.

The Results

PNCC is now well-positioned with the knowledge and plan required to upgrade and operate a state-of-the-art 5G Open RAN network.
